Job Description:

Mine Surveyor with prior experience in Topological, Volumetric, Operating Pit using TS, Laser, DGPS & Drone. He/She must also have past experience in the post survey Data Processing and Report Generation.

Responsibilities:
  • Topographic Surveys: Conducting detailed surveys of the mining area's topography, including surface features, elevations, and natural obstacles.

  • Boundary Identification: Clearly defining and marking the boundaries of the mining site to ensure compliance with legal regulations and to prevent encroachment on neighboring properties.

  • Volume Calculations: Calculating the volumes of earth and minerals moved during mining and related activities.

  • Mapping and Drafting: Creating accurate maps, plans, and diagrams of the mining site, underground workings, tunnels, and other structures.

  • Setting Control Points: Establishing precise reference points (control points)

  • Survey Instrumentation: Selecting and using appropriate surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, laser scanners, and drones, to gather accurate data.

  • Data Analysis: Analyzing survey data and generating reports that provide insights into the progress of mining activities, resource estimates, and potential areas for optimization.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with mining engineers, geologists, and other professionals to provide accurate data for mine planning and resource management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance surveying processes, adopt new technologies, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of data collection.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or its equivalent in mine surveying.

  • Bachelor's Degree: Related field such as Surveying, Geomatics, Geospatial Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a similar discipline.

2. Training and Experience:

  • Practical Experience: Working as an assistant to experienced surveyors or participating in internships /apprenticeships within mining companies.

3. Professional Certification (if Any)

4. Additional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, laser scanners, and drones is essential.

  • Geospatial Software: Familiarity with geospatial software like AutoCAD, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other specialized mining software is often required.

  • Regulations and Safety: A solid understanding of mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations is important for maintaining safe and compliant operations.
